Fern Spoon and Bone Spoon!!!

from $20.00
sold out

Spoons! In two different styles, these ceramic spoons are ideal for scooping sugar, stirring coffee, or whatever else you might use a spoon for! The fern spoon is hand shaped and carved, and then painted with ferns around the handle and in the base of the spoon. The bone spoon (Bone Spoon!!!!) is also hand shaped, and sculpted to create a bonelike texture and look. These spoons are dishwasher and microwave safe.

Made from white midfire stoneware, these pieces were thrown, hand carved, and decorated with colored slip. They were fired, glazed with a transparent, food safe glaze, and then fired for a second time.

The ceramics in this set are inspired by mushrooms, and the forests they inhabit. While the main focus of the set was on sculpture, this collection also explored a more minimal application of colored slips, while experimenting with brushstrokes and texture.
