Ceramic Floral Vase

$75.00

This floral ceramic vase is a cheery addition to a shelf, desk, mantle, windowsill, or other flat surface. Quite nice to look at, with or without some blooming buds or perky plant popped in there! Adorned with hand painted flowers climbing up and around them, this decorative vase is handmade and one of a kind. Measurements are approximate. There is no drainage hole in the bottom, but a few rocks tossed in there makes it suitable for any medium sized plant!

To make this vase, it was thrown on the wheel using white, mid-fire stoneware clay. The flowers and leaves are hand-painted with colored slips before the vase's first firing. It was glazed in a clear, transparent glaze and fired once more - for good measure (and because that is the process).

The botanical ceramics in this collection, Fairly Floral, are an experiment in style, as well as an exploration of freehand painting and carving techniques. They boast a warm palette of colors, and their blooming florals and leafy foliage have simply been a delight to create and to share.
