Floral Pot with Legs

$20.00
sold out

This floral ceramic pot with legs is a cheery addition to a shelf, desk, mantle, windowsill, or other flat surface. Quite nice to look at, with or without some little teeny plant popped in there! Adorned with hand painted leaves, inspired by WIlliam Morris, they climb up and around the pot. This decorative vase is handmade and one of a kind. There is some damage on the bottom of the feet, and the piece has been discounted accordingly. Measurements are approximate.

To make these, they were thrown on the wheel using white, mid-fire stoneware clay. The surface is hand-painted with colored slips before the vase's first firing. It was glazed in a clear, transparent glaze and fired once more - for good measure (and because that is the process).

The botanical ceramics in this collection, Fairly Floral, are an experiment in style, as well as an exploration of freehand painting and carving techniques. They boast a warm palette of colors, and their blooming florals and leafy foliage have simply been a delight to create and to share.
